Crudine Ridge Wind Farm to be supplied with Nexans Olex cable

Nexans Olex has been appointed the supply of 33kV medium voltage aluminum cable to Crudine Ridge Wind Farm, located 45km south of Mudgee in New South Wales, Australia.

The Crudine Ridge Wind Farm ( commenced construction in May 2018. Thirty-seven 3.63MW wind turbines, reaching a height of 160m tall, will be installed by the customer. Internal access roads and electrical reticulation, a substation, switching station, and a 16km of 132kV transmission line are also included in the project scope. The large-scale wind project will generate enough electricity to power 55,000 homes, and contribute over $160,000 per year to the local NSW community. It’s estimated that the project will generate a reduction of approximately 357,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

This project win comes down to Nexans Olex’s ability to satisfy the customer’s requirements. A tight delivery schedule and strong project management has been dedicated to this project. Nexans Olex’s skilled technical and estimating project teams will manage the Crudine Ridge Wind Farm project from start to finish. 

In accordance with the customer’s specification and requirements, Nexans Olex will be delivering medium voltage cable to the Crudine Ridge Wind Farm. All cable supplied will feature Nexans Olex’s Eco-Term termite barrier; a low cost, environmentally and health conscious alternative to the chemical deterrent, Cypermethrin. Initial cable delivery is scheduled for quarter-four 2018, with final deliveries planned for quarter-one 2019.

The Crudine Ridge Wind Farm is expected to be commissioned in late 2019.
