Project: Greater Colombo Grid Substation Project
Olex completed this major turnkey project in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The design and build project was to extend the 132kV power supply system and optical fibre comunication system in the Colombo area. Olex supplied almost 80km of high voltage cable for the project, which was completed in early 2006. |

Project: LIHIR GOLD, PNG

Olex have secured the contract for the complete cable supply of a major expansion program at Lihir Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea. Olex will be supplying approximately $1m of low voltage and high voltage cables for the mine, which is located on Lihir Island in the New Ireland province of Papua New Guinea. |
Project: RAPID GROWTH PROJECT 3
Contractor: MARINE & PORTS DEVELOPMENT JOINT VENTURE
Olex is supplying approximately $5m of high voltage and extra high voltage cables for the Rapid Growth Project 3 (RGP3) at BHP Billiton’s Iron Ore mine in Western Australia. The project includes the development of a new pit and the construction of new crushing and screening facilities.
Project: XIZHIMEN POWER STATION

Olex supplied 30km of 220kV cable for this project in early 2006. The project involved the laying of cables in a tunnel that runs between the Xizhimen substation and Beijing
Project: RAVENSTHORPE NICKEL PROJECT
Contractor: RAVENSTHORPE JOINT VENTURE
Olex supplied approximately $2.5m of high voltage cables for this Greenfield nickel plant near Ravensthorpe, Western Australia, in 2005. The Ravensthorpe Nickel Project (RNP) is the development of a mine, treatment plant and associated infrastructure to produce a mixed nickel and cobalt hydroxide intermediate product.
Project: COWAL GOLD MINE

Olex supplied approximately $3m of various cables for the Cowal Gold Mine in Central New South Wales, Australia in 2005.
Project: ORICA GLADSTONE UPGRADE
Contractor: Worley Parsons
Olex provided approximately $1m of high voltage and low voltage cables for the Orica Gladstone Upgrade. The upgrade was of the existing ammonium nitrate plant at Yarwun, Queensland, and involved construction of a third nitric acid plant.
