New machine boosts capacity at Tottenham factory

20 Oct 2006

The commissioning of a new state-of-the-art central stranding machine at our Tottenham factory is set to enhance our market leading position by increasing cable output.

The $4 million investment has not only reaffirmed Olex’ commitment to remaining a world-class, Australian Made cable manufacturer, but will also increase efficiency in the factory.

The high tech German technology will enable Olex to produce more cable as it operates eight times faster than other stranders. It will also offer the flexibility of being able to run either copper or aluminium conductor.

Several independent cable experts recently visited the Tottenham site to inspect the new technology and described it as the best of its type in the region.

The 60 meter long machine began producing cable in early October.
