Australia has long established trading links with China.
In the late 1980's Olex recognised the growth in demand for high voltage underground cables. In 1991, we installed one of the world’s longest 220kV underground XLPE cables systems in Australia. Having successfully demonstrated our expertise we were invited to enter the Chinese market.
In 1992, Olex's first project in China was for the Changsha Power Authority. With this technically challenging project we established a reputation as a company who produced high quality cables and was keen to work in consultation with utilities in the region.
Since then Olex has been involved in a number of major Extra High Voltage 220kV projects in many regions across China.
Mr Liang Jin Li is our manager for China. He is based in Beijing, and has been with Olex since that first project in 1991. Mr Li is well recognised for his contribution to the industry in China.
The China market is also supported by our regional office located in Singapore.
